Abstract

Nowadays we see that Latin American countries have adopted development strategies based on the orientation of their economies towards international exchange. For its part, globalization is redefining the spaces, processes and actors of Latin American development. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the new integration processes and emerging business systems in the Latin American Southern Cone in light of the links with the East Asian economies. In particular, it studies the levels and forms of interaction of Asian economic agents, mainly the large Japanese and Korean business groups in the two Latin American economic spaces: Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, on the one hand, and the Latin American Southern Cone, on the other.
