This article shows the processes of patrimonial action of modern developments in Latin America and working class neighborhoods in Santiago, Chile. For this, it unfolds the tension between tradition and modern neo-liberal modernization. The concept that encompasses the valuation of these heritages are as is the “modern cultural landscape”. For each case study, methodologies to produce information are developed from the analysis of the “declarations of typical zones”, interviews with local heritage managers and the monographic revision on modern housing developments in Latin America.
