Sexual division of work and ethics of care: A gender-based approach and the human duty of empathy

Abstract

This essay had as its theme the analysis of the consequences of care ethics and gender inequalities in the labor market. Initially, the principle of equality and gender issues was addressed, followed by a study on the «Ethics of Care» that justifies the current division of domestic work and unpaid care. During the research, the inductive approach method was used. Finally, it was concluded that the sexual division of labor and the ethics of care perpetuate gender inequality, which impedes female social emancipation, and there must be a social transformation that ensures the implementation of the principle of equality through empathy. and making the ethics of care a human duty.
