Abstract

The national legal historiography has drawn from different traditions and has been cultivated by several scholars, amateur and professional. And indeed, who best represented the systematic and critical study of the history legal is Manuel Salvat Monguillot. Hence, this article aspires to be a contribution to the knowledge of this master of law, by presenting an overview of his life, and the contributions of his thinking and work to the discipline of history legal in our country. At the end of this study, is presented an addendum containing the columns written by Salvat Monguillot in various print media, material with which we intend to contribute to the knowledge of the work of this scholar.
