Abstract
The Solórzano Pereira's classical treaty, Política Indiana, offers the most perfect expression of the institutional, economic and social order of Indias under the Spanish rule and consistently binds the New World realities to the mental universe of the Europeans. This paper focuses on the usefulness of historical arguments of Roman origin, especially through examples and comparisons, in order to construct the abovementioned link and to understand his consequences.
