Abstract

This article aims to describe and analyze the staging of El Inca y sus pallas, held annually in the district of Lima, Marca during the town’s patronal feast. In this dance, which depicts the capture and death of the Inca at the hands of the Spanish captains, it is possible to observe the transfiguration of the communal body, which allows to maintain the process of resistance over time, present from the colonizing period to our days in the Andean cultures.
